Welcome, Bienvenue and Welkom!
Welcome to my first post! Why am I blogging? Because everyone is doing it! I know, I know an individualist such as myself is jumping on the bandwagon! I can't help it! I am a closet journal writer. I start many journals, never finish, but I secretly write them anyway. Now I will confess my sins to the world...uh oh... what have I got myself into?
No seriously, I thought this would be a good way of keeping track of my creative self in quilting and post photos of my quilts. I can post about the process and if I get stuck along the way, perhaps you quilters out there can offer encouragement or advice...or not. Perhaps others may be inspired by me... or not. Maybe I can see myself from a different angle...and not be embarrassed.
On to the quilting: What am I working on now?
I am working on an homage to my cat Spike. (Poor Spike is getting old, real thin and a little whiny and crotchety. He is 17 years old, but we love him.) I once saw in a magazine a wallhanging done in black and white prints for the background and a colourful applique on top. I thought I would do the opposite for Spike, since Spike is a black and white cat, do the background colourful with the cat applique in black and white. I am working with some scraps and I have them arranged on the floor for a week now. I will try to take photos and see if I can post them another day.
