You cannot rush handquilting!

I know, I know, I have not blogged very much lately... It's been a very busy summer! Work has been busy and time consuming. We have been visiting and going out with many friends. As for quilting, it has been too hot in my sewing room which is in a kind of attic. However I have been very good and doing a bit of handquilting almost every day (in the morning, that's me in my pj's)...as long as my fingers are not too sore!

I have quilted all the way around the outside and have turned under the two ends of my frame!

I am not marking the quilt, but just quilting it as I go and am enjoying the process, but it is sooooo slow especially when a deadline looms ahead!

I have 2 baby quilts to finish and another to start (this one is designed on paper and the fabric washed and ready to be cut). I have to machine quilt my black, white and red quilt, and start my bed quilt, plus 3 other quilts in various states of completion.

Luv luv LUV this quilt, and your hand-quilting makes it even luvlier! I haven't done any quilting for a couple of months due to my shoulder surgery, but I dragged a basted quilt out of the closet earlier today . . . I've hand-quilted the center and need to get cracking on the rest of it, now that I've recovered from surgery. I will really miss seeing you and the rest of the last week crew at BIQR since I'm coming second week, but there's a chance I might be see you guys next year. Hard to believe, even though I'll be retired at that point, I may have a business conflict that prevents me from coming to the second week!!! Or maybe I'll just stay up there for a month . . . wouldn't that be just heavenly??!!

It's wonderful. I love it.

Hear you about the heat. My sewing room is in a sort of attic too. It gets so hot up there.

Yes, hand quilting is slow but listen to a book tape and it goes faster. Love that quilt and I hope it cools down so you can do more quilting in the attic.

We took a chance that you might be at work on Sunday and stopped by. :-)

Oh, this is going to be so lovely! I battle the heat in a small nook in our upstairs..no window...and am so grateful we have not had too many 90º+ degrees as it's always 10º more up there. Sorry..I don't know the metric conversion! But hot is hot. I'm a pj quilter too..such freedom!

It's looking really good. Are you going to BIQR this year? I won't be there because I'll be home doing rehab following shoulder surgery. I'll be anxious to see what the theme will be next year.
