Liberated Tea Cozies

Here is the liberated tea cozy, that I made for a friend for Christmas. I was using Marston's idea for variable stars and sawtooth borders. I am really pleased with the overall look of this one!

SideB:

For the next cozy, I used Tonya's free-pieced letters for one side, and made my own free-pieced tea cup for the other side. I appliqued a tea bag label to it, which looks better in person than in photo (the flash wrecks the colour a bit I think).

Your liberated tea cosies are so cute. It's a great way to try out patterns without committing to an entire quilt.

Very fun. So do you collect tea pots? I love the tea bag label.

As far as answering questions you get in comments it all depends. If it's an answer I think more than that one person might want to know, I put it in a post. If I remember. Otherwise you can respond in an email (if you have their addy).

Wow, those tea cozies are really great! Love the liberated "take" on it, love Tonya's letters, and especially the tea bag label. Guess it's time to explore the Gwen Marston book!

Did you draft the tea cozy pattern yourself? I need to make one for a neighbor who fell in love with some fabric in my stash when she was petsitting! Don't worry about the public speaking blunders...my DH says it is the most common phobia of all!
